The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they%26#039;re ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

Reply:I would avoid link exchanges entirely. This is an outdated practice. Create relevant one way back links through article marketing and press release marketing. Also i would educate yourself on social media marketing as this is almost always free and highly helpful for any website.

In many cases having many different products with different prices and reviews can have a severely negative impact on your conversion rate. There should never be any reason for your browser to have to stray from your website to get more information. This strategy eliminates that possibility.

Don’t stick to conventions - think out of the box. Learn to target your customers, discover what they’re looking for, give them EXACTLY what they’re looking for and make a sale through education and customer segmenting.
Whether it’s online, in a catalog, or through traditional direct mail marketing, too many choices will “paralyze” most prospects and impede their ability to click the “buy now” button.

Also just think you are sending visitors away from your site to another site, and Google are getting the bulk of the money.

Is this idea good?
I have to promote a fairness cream, which offers sun protection.
So I decided to put up 2 face of a gal, one under Polaroid glass(one that darkens when exposed to light) and other normal plain glass. So the one that darkens, I am showing it as effect of not using the product and the plain glass one as effect of using the product.
I want honest opinion...Is this idea good?

SITUATION OVERVIEW: What is presently happening in the marketplace? Where does your hotel rank in comparison to your competition? Who leads the market? Provide a brief history of your company.
OBJECTIVE: What do you want to accomplish with your marketing? More clients? Do you want to reach a better quality of client? Be specific, as this is how you will measure the success of your efforts.
STRATEGIES: What are the specific goals of your marketing? Are you trying to increase business at a certain hotel or marketing region? Do you plan to concentrate on business travelers exclusively? In your case, one example of a strategy might be %26quot;Establish communication with business travelers who travel upwards of 10 times a year.%26quot;
TACTICS: These are the specific courses of action you wish to initiate to achieve your objective and fulfill your strategies. Given the sample strategy above, a tactic might be to %26quot;Create a direct mail campaign targeted to Human Resource Directors throughout the UK.%26quot;

Something fun to advertise or change it's whole identity?
I am on my summer break from uni and want to practice my design skills and hopefully do some stuff that might be able to go in to my portfolio. I want to make my own project and maybe rebrand a company that maybe could maybe do with a make over. Any ideas as to what company I could do? Eg changing logo, advertising campaign, identity, etc?

Does it have to be well known? If so, shops like Dorothy Perkins and Burtons are sort of bland despite having some good stuff. DP in particular seems to be marketed at grannies IMO. You could maybe renovate a cheap supermarket like morrison%26#039;s so it got a more updated image?
If you%26#039;re just doing it for fun and practice, you could choose a local small business. Many of them have good services but lack the funds to get proper designers in so many cafes/ restaurants/ estate agents get overlooked as they don%26#039;t look as swish as bigger named providers. I think if you%26#039;re looking for jobs in the area this could also help you as it shows a more personal touch.

There are many ways to market a small business on the web. You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC. However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.

Here is part of the listing.
These 3 Antique Holy Bible Cedar Boxes supposedly once contained the bibles used during the exorcism of a formerly demonically possessed woman during the 1950%26#039;s or 1960%26#039;s. According to legend, a local priest was called in the middle of the night to 1121 W 38th St in Anderson, Indiana to perform an exorcism. During the ritual, the priest removed a bible from each of the Cedar Boxes and used them during the ceremony. Witnesses have claimed that the ritual did not work during the first two attempts; however, something shocking happened during the third attempt. A bolt of lightning flew from the woman%26#039;s body and struck one cedar box causing the box to crack.

Reply:Creepy or not, the price is always set by the Seller. If he hopes that the price will go up (or,as stated, he is trying to save money on initial listing fees) then the starting price is immaterial. It is the final value price which makes the most difference.
Are they real? This is anyone%26#039;s guess. Creepy or not the guy could be telling the truth, or could be making up a great story for the readers to become bidders. You have no way of knowing. This is just another in the long line of interesting auctions (or well written auctions) on Ebay.

In any exorcism, only one Holy Bible (containing both Old and New Testaments) is used. There would be no benefit to bringing two additional Bible, unless the books had been artifacts retrieved from a saint or holy place. Had that been the case, it is doubtful that they would have been buried with the woman; the exorcist would have been sure to keep them for future possessions.

I think the beauty of a blog is several fold:
1. It provides a means to position yourself/your business as an expert in the minds of your readers.
2. It enables you to provide timely, accurate information that is of interest to your readers.
3. It makes your web site appear less %26quot;static,%26quot; in that it is constantly being updated.
4. It gives your readers a reason to continually visit your web site.
Each of these attributes can be of tremendous value to you as a marketer. Granted, as others have indicated, a blog by itself can accomplish many of the same things. I think it depends on whether or not you want people to also take advantage of your web site. The thing about providing a link from your web site to your blog and vice-versa, is that you are asking your readers to do two things instead of just one.
So, in my opinion, adding a blog to your web site is more advantageous than building a separate site for your blog.

Depending how you build your links, every post could be linking back to your site. If you build lots of quality posts, you will have lots of links.
You can build a wordpress blog into your own site by using a folder when you copy over the wordpress files. Your site would still have it%26#039;s normal home page at www.yoursite.com. Your blog could be starting at www.yoursite.com/wordpress. You would just add links from your home page to your blog.
I%26#039;ve included a site link for installing wordpress. It addresses using a folder name as an option.
