Anyone difficult to sell product through ebay?Or it is more easy if we have our own online store website.Which one is best?

i think that if one have little investment in starting a online store, ebay should be perfect but if the item sell or not depend on the popularity of the product. however, starting a online store is also good if one have the investment to buy products in bulk and pay for hosting and designing.
